Vetri's post-production is finally underway! I can finally see the film coming alive after months of hard work! I'm running a little late so I will be delaying the release to 12th May (exactly a week from now!) It was supposed to release on May 6th (tomorrow) but due to balancing Uni, work and filmmaking, I'm probably biting a bit more than I could chew at the moment...
First, I had to arrange all my rendered sequences in the order and time it according to the animatic I created in the earlier stage. This had to be the easiest part of the post-production process. Some parts didn't fit and had to be cut from the film. Other parts were either too slow or too fast, and had to be adjusted. What took the most time was having to re-render the "odd" frames. Keeping the frames there would have made the film look less professional.
I spent a lot of time browsing through sound effects websites such as freesound.org to sync sound effects to the film. I don't have a high-quality mic, so I had to download foley sound effects wherever I could find one. I ended up spending a lot of time, in fact a couple of long nights over the weekends, browsing for the right sound effect. It always seems like it's easy to find that perfect sound effect in your head, only to realise you've been spending hours and hours looking for it and going with something less than ideal.

After about a week of putting my ears through torture, I started to create all the other stuff like the logo of the film, credits, opening titles, etc. I also created the two posters of the film and made some updates to the website. Overall, it's coming along well and there is some of that feel-good factor in there with random bits of comedy here and there. Hopefully, it should be enjoyable to watch and don't get one of these reactions (below)!
I also have to mention my gratitude to all the backers of "Vetri" on my Kickstarter campaign and everyone that approached me regarding this film! Your support really helps me get that extra bit of motivation to keep making exciting short films! And this also goes out to everyone who supported and shared my stuff on Facebook and YouTube as well. Thanks heaps! You can always contact me for whatever on my Facebook. Feel free to comment on how much you loved (or hated) my stuff!
